Yamaha Launches Jupiter Z1 Euro3, Green Commitment

This year Yamaha Indonesia began applying Euro3 emissions standards on motor-bike. The first motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z1 Indonesia enhanced Euro3. Jupiter Z1 was known in the country as the National Champion Indoprix Double Winner in 2013 and 2014.

Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) choose menggunkaan standard Euro3 regulations issued by Worldwide Motorcycle Emission Test Cycle (WMTC) because this applies worldwide, not just in Europe such as the regulation ECE R40. With WMTC rules, the motor can be exported around the world. The plus points of the Euro 3 standard than ECE R40 WMTC namely the rule to reduce noise, especially the muffler (exhaust) and the engine.

Yamaha's commitment is also appropriate Indonesian government regulation under the Act No. 2 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transport and Environment Ministerial Regulation No. 23 Year 2012 on the Amendment to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment No. 10 of 2012 on Quality Standard Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emissions New type Category L3.

Yamaha apply Euro3 on Jupiter Z1 with two new devices, namely the ECU and exhaust catalytic conveter with O2 sensor so as to make the motor more environmentally friendly. There are changes in the length of the catalyst, previously 30 mm to 60mm so that the matrix volume of 25.7 cm3 catalyst ride into 51.4 cm3.

Available colors Black Double Winner, Red Racing Hero, White Underbone Supreme. The fixed price of Rp 14.615 million OTR Jakarta.

"Meet the Euro3 standards due to the contribution of the catalyst in the exhaust. With Euro 3 standards, better exhaust filter so that the gas discharge is also more environmentally friendly. This is Yamaha's commitment helped preserve the environment together and show a caring and responsible manufacturer to the wider community. Not only Jupiter Z1, new motors Yamaha which will be released this year using Euro3 which is a global and international standards, "said Mohammad Masykur, Assistant GM Marketing PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing.

Yamaha is very ready to face the Euro 3 standards for Yamaha products prepared towards these standards, as has previously been applied Fuel Injection technology. Yamaha with Euro3 certainly already FI. FI system has a very good performance so that it can produce the fuel consumption of highly efficient and low exhaust emissions and friendly to the environment.

The European Union (EU) already apply Euro3 standards ie in January 2006 based on the regulation of Directive 2002/51 / EC, known as ECE R40. Standard Euro 3 was found on WMTC regulations and rules that is the benchmark AISI and JAMA (Japan Automotive Manufacturers Association).

Euro3 standards based engine cc motorcycle engine can be seen from below 150 cc, 150 cc and above 150 cc. For the engine below 150 cc, which meet Euro3 standard is containing 2.0 g / km CO (carbon monoxide); 0.8 g / km HC (hydrocarbons); 0:15 g / km NOx (nitrogen oxides). While the engine of 150 cc and larger than 150 cc, its Euro 3 standards with the content of 2.0 g / km CO; 0.3 g / km HC; 0:15 g / km NOx. Standard Euro 3 can also be known by the speed (km / h). Below 130 km / h, the CO content of 2.62 g / km; 0.75 grams / km HO; 0:17 g / km NOx. Create a speed of 130 km / h and above 130 km / h, the Euro 3 standard reference with the CO content is 2.62 grams / km; 0:33 g / km HO; 0:22 g / km NOx.

Euro3 standard motor tests for the engine below 150 cc using Urban Driving Cycle (UDC) with the test of time starting from 0 seconds to 1200 seconds. Euro3 standard test directly aimed memgambil sampling from 0 to 1200 seconds.

This is different from the motor tests were run warm up EURO2 for 0-400 seconds in advance, then the sampling taken from 400-1200 seconds. This difference makes testing Euro3 standard motors with more actual because the machine that continuously lit from 0-1200 seconds, easy sampling taken for emissions testing because when the motor is cold more exhaust gases. As for the 150 cc motorcycle engine and above 150 cc, the motor tests using UDC and Extra Urban Driving Cycle (EUDC). Sampling EUDC starting from 1200 seconds to test after test with UDC up to the second-1500.
